Preliminary Design and Feasibility Study for Expressway IB Novi Sad - Ruma
Novi Sad-Ruma expressway is a part of the main network of Vojvodina and it connects part of European TEN-T network E-70 and E-75. The main aim of the construction of the multi-lane road, the tunnel through Fruška gora and the bridge over the river Danube,is to improve the level of service for traffic flows, increase traffic safety, reduce travel time, reduce vehicle operating costs and reduce negative environmental impacts.
The main tasks of the Feasibility Study are:
- To provide relevant technical and operational information on the existing road and the final solution;
- To provide data on achieved and forecasted traffic flows by creating transport model in VISUM;
- To define traffic conditions in the networks without investment and with investment;
- To determine the economic costs of use (exploitation) in the period of the 20th (30th) annual operation;
- To determine the expected economic benefits in the 20th (30th) year of use;
- To provide answers on the economic justification of investing in t a multi-lane road on the section Novi Sad - Ruma through the analysis of the internal rate of return and net present value.
